Sapa

Sapa is 380 km (or 8 hours on a sleeper bus) north-west of Hanoi
Established as a hill station by the French in 1922, overlooking rice terraces and surrounded by mountains and clouds. We were lucky to visit on sunny days.

Sleeper bus: Hanoi to Sapa

Having never been on a sleeper bus before I didn't realise that it would actually have beds. Beds for people who are five foot tall or less that is.
The 'service stations' stop. This is the better stop, the first was some bushes. And I won't go into details about the facilities at this stop. Needless to say I would recommend getting the train to Sapa.
Luckily Sapa was worth the effort
