Phnom Penh

A lot of things in Cambodia seem to cost $1 (except for tuk tuks which are $2 no matter where in the city you go) Not so in the market although we tried our best and I did get some typical traveller elephant trousers for $4 and a t-shirt for $2
Our rooftop hostle. You can see all the tuk tuks below waiting to pounce as soon as you leave. In fact they don't even wait till you leave the shout up as soon as you appear on the balcony three stories up.
I love the fact that this tuk tuk driver has a crash helmet hanging from his tuk tuk but he doesn't bother wearing it.
We also passed by a scooter carrying five people.
Three passengers is normal, (and legal, 2 adults and 1 child), four passengers is common. I have learnt that you can transport anyone and anything on a scooter so I shouldn't really be surprised.
Another sight from the tuk tuk is a man sleeping in a hammock swinging in the back if a speeding truck
It feels a bit strange to be blogging about Choeung Ek and Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum buthere goes and i will keep it breif. Once in Phnom Penh you feel compelled to visit them. My words cannot do them justice, then are stark, moving and very informative. There is no dumbing down of what went on 40 years ages and I feel that that is the way it should be, it should be remembered and confronted and those that suffered and died honoured.
