Christchurch

Owen, A friend from home, has flown over to New Zealand and we have hired a little camper van for a two week road trip on the South Island. But first we have a day to explore Christchurch

The Pallet Pavillon, a temporary community space in once of the vacant lots left by the quake.

The Christchurch Cathedral
A London Bus outside the Cathedral. The 157 - Crystal Palace to Morden
New Regents Street
A memorial, each chair represents a person who lost their life in the quake
We visit on the three year anniversary of the quake and the devastation is still evident throughout the city. But so is the construction

The Restart Mall. Temporary shops, cafes and banks have been set up in brightly coloured shipping containers creating a bustling hub.
We visit an exhibition about the quake, it is really moving, we watch a film shot in the days after the quake where people tell their own personal stories.
The building are still showing the markings to show that they had been searched for survivors
